Background of the Study

The Niger Delta region is a critical area in Nigeria, with oil being a major contributor to the national economy. In Burutu LGA, oil revenue significantly impacts local political decision-making, influencing the allocation of resources, funding for development projects, and the priorities of local government leaders (Edem & Itie, 2023). This study aims to examine how oil revenue influences political decisions in Burutu LGA, with a particular focus on the allocation and utilization of funds.
